China’s infrastructure investment may boost domestic steel demand

Due to the reduction of international orders as well as the limitation of international transportation, China’s steel export rate was keeping at a low stage.

The Chinese government had tried to implement a lot of measures such as improving the rate of tax rebate for exportation, expanding the export credit insurance, temporarily exempting some taxes for the trading enterprises, etc., hoping to help the steel industries to overcome the difficulties.

In addition, expanding domestic demand was also the goal of the Chinese government at this moment. Increasing the construction and maintenance projects for transportation and water systems in different parts of China helped support the rising demand for the steel industries.

It was true that the global economic recession was difficult to improve in the short time and the Chinese government had thus put more emphasis on the local developments and construction. Even though the coming traditional off-season might affect the steel industries, but after the end of the off-season, the demand was expected to rebound.
