Seamless steel pipes can be divided into ASTM American standard seamless steel pipes, DIN German standard seamless steel pipes, JIS Japanese standard seamless steel pipes, GB national seamless steel pipes, API seamless steel pipes and other types according to their standards. ASTM American standard seamless steel pipes are more commonly used internationally, and their types are diverse. The relevant parameters of ASTM seamless steel pipes ASTM a179/179m/sa179/sa-179m American standard seamless steel pipes are listed as follows
ASTM A179 / A179M / ASME SA179/SA-179M
Suitable for steel pipes used in tubular heat exchangers, condensers and similar heat transfer equipment.

Seamless steel pipe manufacturing process. According to its manufacturing process, seamless steel pipes are divided into hot-rolled seamless steel pipes, cold-drawn seamless steel pipes, punched and stretched seamless steel pipes, and vertically extruded seamless steel pipes. The first two processes are used to produce general-caliber seamless steel pipes, the diameter of which is generally 8-406, and the wall thickness is generally 2-25; the latter two processes are used to produce large-caliber thick-walled seamless steel pipes, the diameter of which is generally 406-1800, and the wall thickness is 20mm-220mm. According to its use, it can be divided into seamless steel pipes for structures, seamless steel pipes for fluids, seamless steel pipes for boilers, and seamless steel pipes for oil pipelines.
